“The biggest gift of this retreat?  I found my passion!  Passion for life, passion for painting.”

These intuitive painting retreats take place in Julie’s personal painting studio in the small northern New Mexico town of El Rito,  Approximately one hour from Santa Fe and Taos, El Rito provides you access to nearby hot springs, sacred sights and hiking trails.  You will be immersed in this rural setting which provides a slower pace in which you can easily unwind in.

“Such a marvelous experience, Julie. In so many ways…The paintings, the people, the joint experience of creating in the presence of other creatives and feeling so safe and embraced in it–plus the natural beauty of the environment…Thank you from the bottom of my heart…always.”

“Julie is a true ally.  She deeply believes in each painter’s ability to find their own unique expression.  to have that confidence from the teacher mirrored back is very inspiring.  She is more of a spiritual midwife than a painting facilitator, guiding us through gestation and helping us as we labor and give birth to that which we carry within.”

Time to read and pull a tarot card if you like in between painting sessions…

More time to paint than a weekend workshop allowing for relaxation and creative deepening. Unlike a weekend workshop, you will paint on at least two surfaces, the exact number to be determined by you.  I include some playful creative exercises to help open you up to your natural inner artist.

“I found the daily routine of painting very nourishing and supportive.  Something like power and depth of engagement and self confidence seemed to grow in all of us over time.   I am confident now that I will be painting a lot more in the future.”
